Last week while waiting in my van, I quick-snapped this photo of Mimi; the way she was carrying her backpack just cracked me up. I knew instantly she's been watching how I carry my purse.
Also last week, my friend Michelle had a craft night and I was way too tired to do anything but sit on her famous chaise and make a list. My head is clattering with holiday miscellany: baking I want to do, baking projects with kids I want to do, my craft ideas, crafts with kids, ways to infuse this next month with a daily dose of spirituality, traditions I want to make sure to perpetuate, menus, scheduling...I did a Brain Drain and felt much more in control. And I do love a good list. This is just a dumping session; the real lists will be categorized and prioritized. I can't wait for holiday baking! Let the sprinkles fly!
I need to acquire some photography skillz, obviously.

You are so funny with your early decorating, you're making me feel like I'm behind the times!
I think your list-making during your creative night with friends was a great use of time. For me the list making brain storm session is key to keeping me from feeling overwhelmed.
"As I rained blows upon him" is one of my favorite Seinfeld lines!
That's great that you are already decorating for Christmas! We should start early so we can enjoy it more, but sadly every year we wait until the first week of Christmas to do all of this. One day we'll be early. Thanks for the dinner invite again, it was great getting to know you and Cathy better!
Your house looks great! Come help me with my house. :)
I love your ideas!!! It's not helping me get in to mood yet. I think this year will just be low key - I'm not feeling overly adventurous. I'm so proud of you getting everything up and ready!!!! You go girl!!
Okay, so you have officially gotten me excited for Christmas looking at these pics. Hey thanks for the sweet comment, you are always such a sweetheart!
I am officially jealous of your holiday decorating. We don't get home till the 7th, and I usually have our decos up way before then! Besides, I'll be totally behind on shopping, baking, and everything else holiday-related. sigh.
Making lists is always a good idea. I wonder if that would soothe my sorrows?
Crystal - I find you incredibly inspiring! I love your enthusiasm for Christmas. And the list - I love the list! That is totally something I would do (and have done ;) All the things you want to do with your kids - I understand, the traditions, the memories, the crafts - so much to do and so little time! I would love to hear about what you are doing - I think your ideas are brilliant!
Love ya,
Tammy :)
We need to do craft nite again...and this time you SHALL craft (although I am completely jealous of the list)!! I can't do it at my house without shame, my Christmas décor will look lame compared with yours! Teach me oh wise one!
