Goodbye, 836

I am having morning-after regret.

Along with my new phone came a new phone number; I could have chosen to keep my old number--which I've had for so many years that I don't remember having any other number--but I chose to change to a new & better number. Snappier. More sibilant. Easier to remember.

I want my old number back.

My 836-11** number was me. It was part of my identity! (There's a Seinfeld episode about this, of course...there's a Seinfeld for every situational tidbit in life...) It makes me wonder what else I'll be tempted to change and alter so I can be newer, be better, but ultimately have changed what makes me....well, me.

I hope you enjoy your new phone. I have the same phone and must admit that it really isn't all that great. It is like a normal computer so it has the occaisional gliches like a computer does....blah. I do like that I can check my email on it, that is nice. So I need this new number, are you giving it out? Email me the new one.

can you get your old # back? I wouldn't worry about it if you can't. Just think about how great it is to start fresh. Like a new spring rain or something! I need your number so I can help you with your blog. I really really want to you know!

Of course you have a Seinfield reference for the occasion. I wouldn't expect anything less.

Your label on this post is too funny! It's kind of frightening that a cell phone number can cause such an identity crisis of sorts, the boobs might push you all the way over eh?

Oh regret is never a good friend. Take it with stride and roll with it. I am too familiar with things like this. debit card 4 digits, etc., etc., I at least have to have 7's in they are my favorite number...maybe 007...in there too!

I totally agree... we changed our phone numbers in the fall and I am still feeling like a fraud. I don't match my number and I am still dialing the old numbers for Jimmy and the kids. I think I get too attached.

Oh, and whoever gets your old number will absolutely HATE you because they will be forever getting calls from you since it's on every contact list you've ever been on.

You have struck a chord here, haven't you? My husband has programmed my car's immobiliser code, and his chip and pin number to be the old phone number he had in his childhood home! How clinging-on-to-the-past is that??

How many Apps are on that phone, you nutter?! Haha!
