Finally! Our first big snowfall! It snowed all day Saturday, in total about 6 inches. This is my only shot of the kids sledding, though, because I abandoned the fun and went to the gym--due to my lazy wake-up at 9:30am. I love the magical feeling of waking up to snow covering the earth; it wraps the world in a beautiful blanket.
Mike set out with Mimi for the sledding hill. I will admit to feelings of trepidation: Man-supervision on a sledding hill seems disastrous. But that would be two days in a row of no workout if I didn't get my butt to the gym! I relinquished control and drove off (in 4-wheel drive, mind you).
Mimi looks like such a puff-ball in her coat! All our snow has practically melted & I'm hoping for more Winter Wonderland later this week.

Beautiful fun. I wish it would snow here, but we will be lucky to get 2 inches at a time.
snow? what's that!
Our snow froze so hard we don't need sleds. It's been a riot -- we are like penguins.
Getting up the hill is another story -- it's froze so hard we can't even smash our feet through to get a foot hold -- we have to use old tracks like a rock climbing wall.
it's gonna be 78 here this weekend!! woohoo!!! of course, it's only 40 right now and i practically froze my arse off walking the dog, but it'll be 70 by noon. i love texas.
Oh man, that was a reminder of winters in Tah-land. Brrrrr! Dane would looove to play in the snow though. Do you ski?
Snow looks like fun! We don't get it where we live (in California). Have fun in the snow!!
It looks like the kids had a great time! And like you, I wasn't in it for the long haul. Too cold! I guess my husband had a hard time convincing my son that his lips were purple from eating snow and that they needed to head inside!
Our snow hasn't melted... but there isn't as much. I must be farther north than you?
let it snow!!!
Hooray for sledding...even if it is man supervised!! LOL
I totally hear ya on that one. I was going to go running Saturday morning...ha! I played fox and geese in the snow instead. Oh well. You're awesome!
Tam
Wow, you're dedicated! Good job on making it to the gym! I have a sitter tonight, so I can go! woo hoo
I love the snow! I was so glad we finally got "dumped on" it's been a long time coming! My kids loved it too & were out there for most of the day! I hope we get some more!
Man-supervision?
I let them knock heads like everyone else.
I catch what you are saying about sending the men folk out to be in charge of the sledding hill. My husband once launched and I mean LAUNCHED my 12-month-old down an icy hill in a laundry basket (when we were in Texas with no sled). It was one of those moments in slow motion where I couldn't believe my eyes and couldn't do a thing about it! Let's just say it ended in a head cracking on the ice and the fun was over!
Too fun! We haven't had any yet and my boys are not happy about it!
I love the snow I hope we get some more this weekend and everyone will drive safely!
Man supervision...classic!
Isaac was JUST lamenting the fact that all of our snow is melted. I really really hope there is another storm soon. It just makes the season that much more magical!
Oh, that looks like so much fun. (Look being the key word there.)
Hellooo! I meant to ask you, since you appreciated the term 'sozzled' in my comment about Sarkozy in Claudia's blog, can I list you as a Likeminded Luvvie in my blog?
(I feel about 7 years old, asking that!)
No snow here in the UK yet. Just big, squally, blustery 'Wuthering Heights' type nonsense.
So beautiful! I love the snow! We still have about 2-3 inches here...they are crusty and crunchy granted, but they are still here! :)
Looks like fun {cold, but fun}! We got some of that white stuff on wet roads that have become slick... that is why I say snow snow go away! But when we have lots of the nasty... I mean wonderful white ground covering, we head to the park for a bit of slippin and sliddin! {and frozen toes and fingers and ...} Enjoy! :D
I would be happy to pack up a bunch of snow and send it your way! It finally stopped snowing about 8:00 p.m. tonight - heaven sakes! Looks like a lot of fun on the sled!
btw - I purchased a few more than two of those star boxes - plus I know where to get them - you are definately getting one! And the Willowby's book is about Mr. Willowby's tree being to big for his house and cuts the top off. Than it gets sent from family to family, each snipping off the top of the tree because it doesn't fit. It's really cute!
My teeth are chattering just looking at these pictures! It is beautiful though. Hooray for you for hitting the gym even in four wheel drive weather!
