Menu Plan Monday

This week I have a baking project planned for each day, so dinner is going to be low key. I've organized which projects I'm going to do, shopped for ingredients, so...let the sprinkles fly! Check here for the Christmas baking festivities, beginning Monday night.

Monday
Grilled cheese & bacon sandwiches (thank you, Missy, for this stroke of genius)
Soup
Apple Pear Cobbler (I bought a case of pears at Costco...there are just a few left)

Tuesday
Crockpot Beef Stew
Baked potatoes

Wednesday
Rice-a-Roni (as a person who loves to cook, this chills me to the bone to admit I'm serving. Don't judge me ;)
Steamed Broccoli

Crusty wheat bread, skillet-toasted (some people have asked about this bread: Costco's Le Brea Whole Grain loaves! Slather slices with butter, skillet-toast (i.e., fry) & your kids will gobble them!)

Thursday

Chicken & pasta (big whoop: leftover chicken from freezer w/ egg noodles & white sauce. Easy-peasy & my kids scarf it.)

Friday
Tuna casserole (I crave it! See sidebar.)

Saturday
Whole wheat pancakes
eggs

Sunday
leftover buffet
or Mike's signature crepes

whoohoo on those dinners. ok what is wrong with rice a roni? i think it is easy and tasty. the sad thing is i can eat a whole box by myself.

and a bitchy Sunday, is when you are a Biotch to your family, and they send you away. actually she needed her back adjusted. but apparently she was about to explode at her family with bitchyness. so she generally goes to my moms alone on those days. i am just mean and yell at my family all day, and scream and cry and get sent to my room. and make major messes. it isn't good. if it wasn't Sunday I'd leave and go shopping all alone, but dang it ,it isn't allowed so they have to put up with me. but today wasn't my bitchy Sunday ,that was last week. with holes in the wall as evidence and a reminder to steer clear.

Mmmm, grilled cheese. You know what makes them even better? (perhaps you already do it) Grill or fry the bread in butter on each side an then throw the cheese and bacon in the middle of 2 of the pieces. Let it slowly melt inside and its nice crispy buttery goodness!

Wow! Even with baking projects your family eats really well. And I just noticed that my hubby left you a comment. Which means he saw your menu and now realizes what a slacker I am!

Happy baking!

btw... 193 days! Congrats.

Oh, and I love Rice-a-Roni. I consider it a delicacy.

Holy cow, if I planned my meals that far in advance I might actually eat at home more often. I'm going to have to give that a try!!

Congrats on the new babe. Only 193 days to go (but who is counting) ;)

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you. Your such a great mom. Good job on all you holiday stuff! You are the pregnant energier bunny in real pink bunny fur! I have a bow for you. I need to come and bring it by. Did I read you need help with your blog design? Call me!!!

Seriously, can we come and live with you?! I rarely make anything that doesn't come out of a box or packet or can. Like my turkey soup--I used a ton of gravy packets to make the broth. I really just can't keep the kids out of my hair long enough to scratch-make anything.

But you have inspired me. Why, just this morning we made graham cracker houses and decorated them. Tonight we are making paper Christmas chains. I will be scouring your blog for more ideas.

Thanks for being so great!

Oh, by the way, your lima bean is beautiful. I think it has your eyes. I am not even going to comment on how long 193 days seems. Congrats!

Congrats! Exciting times for you guys!

We made your gum drop trees and the kids loved them! The trees are now a new Christmas tradition for the Fish Heads! Thanks!

The UnMighty said...

I'm confused. What night are you having lima beans?

AMY said...

Great announcement...I noticed the lima bean before I read the post and was trying so hard to remember if it'd been there the last time! Sneaky girl. CONGRATS! Maybe now you'll chill out on all your great projects so the rest of us don't feel so lame! :)
Oh, but it did make me feel better to see "Boxed food" in your menu planning. That's all my fam knows.

You are so good to still keep at it. I'm taking the month of Dec. off. Not from cooking just from planning.
