I've Switched my Running Persona

I went running outside last Saturday and as I was leaving the house Mike said, "You look like Hancock!" He was totally right! You may remember from this post, this post, this post, this post, this post and this post that I've said before I am a Forrest Gump runner. Well now I think I may be a Hancock runner. If only I could run like Hancock. Alas, my running style more closely resembles Izzie Mandelbaum:

Even running as slow as Izzie, I was proud of myself for dragging my thunder-thighs out on a VERY public street. I pulled my hat way down & told myself no one could tell who I was. After a very long time, I stumbled up this wee little hill--more of an incline, really--and staggered into my car and thought, "HOW AM I GOING TO DO A HALF MARATHON IN 8 WEEKS???" I'm an idiot. Heaven help me. "Run, Crystal Run!" (said in Forrest-esque voice)On another note, I've been uncharacteristically unproductive lately; I just kind of stumble through my day in a daze of survival. My to-do list doesn't get one thing checked off and my structure feels...well, just off. I'm really going to strive to get back on my game this week. I was thinking today how I need to be blogging more consistently. I view my blog primarily as a journal & documentation of my family's life, yet I only write once a week. That's no good. So my goal is to post daily for a month and see if that gets me in the habit. I like looking back and seeing the little day-to-day details that make my life mine.
Details like this:Isabelle reading to Jack. (Or Baby Joe, depending on who you are in the house.)

Mimi making Baby laugh with her silly dances.

Max & Jack, chillin'.

Baby fell asleep while Mimi & I were doing school.

Jack's cute little button-nose profile.

First solid food!

Mimi modeling her long "dog ears."
That's what we call pigtails in our house.

Goodnight.
Sleep tight, everyone.

I'm so proud of you going out in the snow for a run!!!! That is a major high point in my book. I don't like snow so it would be a major high point for me to even step outside. Love all the baby pics-so sweet! He's getting so big!

I was noticing how cute her pigtails (I mean dog ears) were yesterday at dance. Adorable. Mimi smiled at herself in the mirror and flipped her hair around the entire time.

Priceless.

I love a girl with good self esteem. :)

You are so awesome! Way to get out there and run. You are cuter than Hancock, too!

Jack does have an adorable little nose! I loved the pictures with the explanations.

I like your new running persona. Maybe you should find one of those speed limit traps and run past it to see how fast you actually are (The Office). Anyway, I'm proud of you for going running and in the snow! You rock! Just keep running.

On a side note: your kids are so dang cute. Love all the pictures.

You do look like Hancock the runner! I don't think anyone would recognize you. I'm impressed that you're running on the icy streets.

Hooray for a month of daily posts!

I'm very proud of you for starting to think of yourself again by eating healthy and running :) I agree with Mike, you do look like Hancock. We call them dog ears here in Kentucky so that's another reason you need to load up the kiddos and come here quick!

I'm so proud of you for leaving your house in the winter to run! I keep mentally trying to gear up for it and it's just not happening.

Love your daily little anecdotes!

All those baby brother pics are so cute! Good luck with your running goal...I'll just admit right now that I'm never going to be a goal-oriented, running outdoors in hancock apparel, with cute white sunglasses person! :)

Way to go! I haven't made it outside running yet - my excuse is the bad air quality. I have been running inside on the treadmill however - I hate it, but I force myself to do it. I printed out a training plan off the internet and I am following it faithfully. Hopefully I will be ready - last year I switched to the 5 mile run but this year I am determined to do the half!

IMO Dog Ears are two "ponytails", one in back is a pony tail, and braids are pigtails. But that's just me.

Loved the video. Man, I miss Seinfeld!

Plus, you are running circles around me! I'm proud of you!
