Hey, I just checked out your sprinkle obsession...have you joined a 12-step program for that yet?
(great pics) However, I feel that sprinkles, while lovely, interfere with the integrity of the frosting thus diminishing my enjoyment of the baked good they reside upon.
Hot mama--I feel that the sprinkles serve a much greater purpose than looking lovely. The frosting in and of itself, has an irritating pasty residue that lingers and frustrates the palatte. The sprinkles cover up the frosting and enhance my enjoyment of the baked goods by greatly improving the texture and overall sensation.
Man does not live by frosting alone! (although i'd certainly be willing to give it a try.) I'd have to argue that texture and form are integral to the beauty and art of culinary expression. Sprinkles give frosting a purpose; there should be no garnish gracing a piece of food that does not also have a purpose and give a contribution to the dish.
Love the pictures of your run. Everytime I'm out on my bike looking at the beautiful red rocks I often wish I had my camera. I think next time I ride I'll bring it along and snap some pix. Thanks for the insperation!
Kay's my blogfriend, she wanted me to warn you that she's not a stalker. I must therefore assume that she is a pro-sprinkler, intrigued by the recent debate.
Unheard of! The cookie is simply a vehicle for the thick layer of pink frosting on a sugar cookie. Were there no frosting, the cookie would merely be flour, butter and sugar, and yet with frosting sprinkles are superfluous.
I used to live up on South Mountain in Draper and ran almost everyday next to those beautiful mountains. Such great memories and such a great post! Thanks for sharing :)
Okay, I saw all the posts about sprinkles and had to come read. I totally do NOT like sprinkles. The only time sprinkles are acceptable is on Lofthouse cookies with the big fluffy frosting and the SOFT sprinkles. Just my 2 cents worth of a comment.
1. Dirty Dancing 2. Say Anything (loved your Lloyd quote!) 3. Amedaus (had to throw in a weird one) 4. Back to the Future 5. Better Off Dead 6. Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure 7. Princess Bride 8. Young Frankenstien 9. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the old one) 10.Napolean Dynamite (go Idaho!) 11.Clueless 12.Finding Nemo 13.Mary Poppins 14. Dumb and Dumber
P.S. I so want to run and take pictures with you!!! Not that I could keep up or anything...
Thank you for adding me to your list of friends :) I feel sooooo special!!!! You inspire me. I really mean that. I really wish you could have come to KY with the other Utah girls :(
I was born in Boise but only lived there for a few months. I feel a kinship with Idahoans...
Now I REALLY want to run (shuffle) with you! I have a hip flexor injury that would help your grandma lap me too, so we could be running soul mates you and me!

I think this deserves a poll - sprinkles or no sprinkles?

I ♥ sprinkles!!!
Gotta have sprinkles! :-) love the beautifyl pix, too. I love fall trees.
When I make sugar cookies, sometimes I forgo the frosting all together and put the crystal sprinkles on before I bake them.
