A Christ-Centered Christmas, Day 12

Activity: Foster peace on earth by not quarreling with your family or friends all day.

Quote:
“This Christmas, mend a quarrel. Seek out a forgotten friend. Dismiss suspicion and replace it with trust. Write a letter. Give a soft answer. Encourage youth. Manifest your loyalty in word and deed. Keep a promise. Forgo a grudge. Forgive an enemy. Apologize. Try to understand. Examine your demands on others. Think first of someone else. Be kind. Be gentle. Laugh a little more. Express your gratitude. Welcome a stranger. Gladden the heart of a child. Take pleasure in the beauty and wonder of the earth. Speak your love and then speak it again. Christmas is a celebration, and there is no celebration that compares with the realization of its true meaning-with the sudden stirring of the heart that has extended itself unselfishly in the things that matter most.” Howard W. Hunter, Ensign, Dec 2002, 16

I love, love, love this quote. Once again, I might need to steal it to share with others.

I firmly beleive you need chocolate and good things in food storage. My husband used to make fun of the Oreos and m&m's in ours. When I reminded him that if we can't leave the house for a month or we actually have to live off our food storage, our kids and we will want a treat once in a while!

Thank you. I will show this post to my children, post haste.

I love how you are making the most of the real meaning of Christmas.

This is an excellent quote! This sentence really stood out to me, oh dear, "Examine your demands on others."

I've been reading all your Christ centered Christmas posts and they've been giving me a lot to think about. Thank you.

For today's activity, if you know how to have your children go a whole day without quarreling, let me know. It's seems no day in our house is complete without at least one argument and some crying.
