For SPT this week, Lelly challenged us to find something *eggs*tra special about our Easter weekend.
I had a great Easter with my kids--which I will post about later--but here is my little moment of personal bliss.
We had Mike's family over Sunday for Easter dinner and Laura left me this:
PEBBLE ICE!!! When I'm pregnant, I crunch ice ceaselessly--much to the delight of anyone within hearing distance. Now I have my own personal stash of the best crunching-ice known to man.
I usually make a run to Sonic to get my pebble ice fix. Laura has a cute little shop with a bistro inside and brought this ice from her bistro Sunday to Easter dinner. She left me with two big bags, which completely made my day; I've been happily crunching from the comfort of my own home for two straight days.

I tend to crunch Milk Duds or ICE cream when I'm pregnant. Maybe next time I should try ice. That might help with the "uncontrollable" weight gain.
P.S. Did you say you were puffy? You look great to me! I could post my last trimester pictures that make the elephant man look tame.

I am SO with ya on the joyous indulgence of pebble ice! Half the reason I went with my last OB was cuz I knew I'd deliver in a hospital that serves that kind on the maternity floor! LOL
hmm. okay, you win, my curiosity has got the best of me and i'm off to Sonic...
What a treat! You can crunch your enamel away to your heart's desire. My teeth are sensitive to too much cold, so ice is a no-no for me.
(My hubs crunches ice and it is such a joy to listen to. Is my sarcasm dripping enough?)

I just checkd out "Dear Lizzie's" and I just wanted to say how amazing it looks! Next time I'm in UT, I will make sure to check it out.
Where have these people who don't know about Sonic ice been? I used to drive to Ripples in Provo for a fresh lime diet coke, but that's a little extreme. That, and my headache was way to intense by the time I arrived there! So now, Sonic works.

I love that ice too, not to crunch but with a nice diet coke poured over it. I'm lucky cuz we have it at the hospital. You look amazing by the way, glad you had a great Easter.

You know the owner of Dear Lizzie?? That's one of my favorite stores in Utah! My sister in law lives right close by and it's always on our list of places to go. The bistro is darling with all the bright colored treats and I love the jewelry and home decor. They are seriously lacking in stores like that here in CT. How lucky you are to get ice from her too!
I am not pregnant and I love crushed ice all.the.time.. When we ordered our last refrigerator the only requirement was that it produced crushed ice. I know it is not the same as pebble ice...but it takes a close second!

i love sonic ice. in fact we went there on friday where i got myself a large strawberry limeade. then on saturday i really wanted to recreate the drink. my husband called from the store to make sure i didn't need anything else. i said if he got REAL sprite and REAL limes, the only other thing would be the pebble ice, but i really don't know of anywhere in our town that has it. regular ice just doesn't really cut it. so envious of your pebble ice gift!
Sonic and Wahoo Fish Tacos have the BEST ice...it's what i like to call Rabbit Poop pellets, bc that's what it looks like. only white...and not as smelly.
ok, we've got sonics all over here, but I guess the ice thing just passed me by. It does nothing for me.
Maybe you like ice more when you're pregnant, because you're practicing for labor when that's all they'll let you have till the baby pops out!
I am a total pebble ice feign when I am pregnant- then it just goes away the day my babies are here. Some weird anemic pregnant things I think. Yeah for thoughtful family that leave you enjoying the goodness!
I was never into ice when I was pregnant, but I have a lot of friends that were...Next time I will try ice!!!

oh! we are so meant to be friends. i LOVE ice & crushed ice is the absolute best. especially when i am prego. i have a fast food place right around the corner that does crushed ice. during my last pregnancy i went every am, got a big coke with lots of ice, and two extra cups of ice. the gals at the drive up laughed at me every time.
Oh yes! I was living off Sonic ice when I was pregnant with Bitt-E! Her shop looks soooo fun, I'm going to go back and window shop some more!

What is it with women and that ice? It seems to be a universal love. I say that's one of the best reasons for EVER being in the hospital...crunchy ice.
When Jon was coaching he would sneak big garbage bags of it from the training room and bring it home for all the women who lived in our complex. He was a hero that year!!

I agree with Julia...I usually crunch on something with a lot of caloric intake when I am pregnant. Her comment is making me want some milk duds...but anyway...enough about me....
