Today I am completely wrapped up with finished my book for book club. We're reading The Book Thief, as recommended by Jill, and I'm loving it! It's very different and interesting. Here is what she had to say about the book:
We all loved, loved, loved The Book Thief. It's Young Adult Literature, but doesn't read like it at all (I'd be hesitant to give it to a young adult to read, maybe high school aged kids). You'd think that since it deals with WWII in Germany and has Death as the narrator that it would be grim, but it wasn't. It was life affirming, funny, poignant, insightful, moving and clever. I highly recommend it.
This month's book club is at my house--tomorrow, in fact--so I'm sure I'll be up most of the night reading since I didn't get the darn book from Amazon until Saturday! (Unbeknownst to me, it sat in Mike's car all of Saturday and I didn't start it until yesterday afternoon. Ouch.) This afternoon will be a flurry of tidying up and making a treat for tomorrow night. I think I'll make these.
So. Here's the menu plan for this week.

I want to eat with you!!
Do your kids eat all the food you plan each weeK? It sounds so yummy to me, I need to work on not catering meals around typical kid foods.
I wish I could be as enthusiastic as you! Exercise, reading, organizing! You're the WOMAN!
oh sounds heavenly! can i come for dinner!
May 2, I'm coming to eat dinner at your house. Thanks.
Go to this website, and scroll down to the bottom and click on 'midnight sun chapter 1' it's Edward's side to Bella's first day at school. It's really good, but it's only the first chapter. So that bumms. http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/otherprojects_midnightsun.html
By the way, I finished! It's fabulous, I love them! I love Edward, and I love Jacob too. I feel so bad for him. :(
Now to catch up on the blog o sphere!
Breakfast for dinner is one of our favorite things to do!
awwww man! i wish i was at your house tonight. i LOVE breakfast for dinner. now i'm regretting my spinach salad...i would much rather have had pancakes. mmmmm...syrup.
It sounds so good. I wish you could just come to my house and cook it! I want the receipe for the oven roasted potatoes. They sound delicious.
Mmmmm! I am inviting myself over for Thursday's dinner. And can you have IZ playing when I arrive. That'll be great! :)
I could have breakfast for dinner every night of the week....and cold pizza every morning for breakfast.
Desiree -
They'll eat it or they'll wear it.
Seriously though. They usually at least TRY everything. The rule around here is you have to eat as many bites of something as years old as you are. Max is 9yrs, so he has to try 9 bites of something new.

I love your MPMs. I need to pull myself together and start doing this!
I put The Book Thief on my to-read list.
My book group met tonight. You'll have to tell me what you think of The Book Thief. My group is a bunch of old ladies from Enrichment and since it's for RS they want to only read uplifting, spiritual books (Choose the best). They didn't want to discuss Twilight because one of them heard it was sexually stimulating! I was laughing with my boys after that discussion. I said I was going to start a Dirty Book Club. #1 thinks no one will let him date their daughters after that, however he might just become even more popular with Mom "the founder of The Dirty Book Club." Shall we change the name of ourbloggerbookclub again? Then I can say I followed through on my threat!
I'm impressed you are still cooking- you made mention last week (I think?) of not wanting to cook because of the bean (that's what we always called babies in my tummy). I would throw in a towel and go back to your summer schedule of Top Ramen, Top Ramen, Top Ramen.
So really I am proud of you- you go girl. Doin' it for the fam. ;) Atta girl.
I've read that Book Theif and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
Oh and great menu!!
