Well, my shopping is done and I am devoting all of December to my favorite Christmas activites! Last night we had a Christmas Family Home Evening: we made the gingerbread dough and cut it out, played a Nativity matching game & read Christmas books by the tree upstairs. It was the epitome of Christmas cozy.
Tonight we decorated the gingerbread girls & boys. Max, in his typical mathmatical style, divided up & distributed the cookies so that all three kids had an equal amount to decorate. I was on "filling-the-frosting-bags" duty and Mike was on "help-Mimi" duty. (Next time I do this, I will try to remember to make the frosting & fill the bags while the kids are away at school; it took a half hour just to make the frosting & mix the colors...not to mention fill the bags!)
Mimi was actually very adept at holding the frosting bag. Look at her 45-degree angle!
I will just have to reward myself for KP duty by scarfing a ginger-girl!

so, when you eat the gingerbread cookies, do you feel guilty when you bite off their heads?
How cute are those!! The kids did a great job decorating.

How fun!! What a fun mom you are!
I can't stand waking up to a kitchen mess. But, I have to admit the more kids I get, the more often this happens. Urgg!
LOVE your Gingerboys & Gingergirls!!
Is this your mom's recipe? I tried your mom's gingerbread cookie recipe, because her gingerbread cookies are my favorite, but they never turned out the same. Shron's gingerbread cookies are the best.
Oh, but your cookies look cute too!
How fun! You're such a great mom to do that! I think we'll do some cookie decorating next week maybe... will you share the gingerbread recipe?
So cute!
I always tell my other blogger friend that she is Martha Stewart's niece... you are now going to be known as Rachel Ray's cousin!
I am coming to your house! SAVE me a delectable gingerbread girl... (or a kooky boy, I'm not picky!) THIS is the kind of stuff that makes you super-mom! YES. You are!
Let's see... my kids are happy if the TREE gets up. 'Nuf said!
You've got a little Terracotta Army there, sugar-coated!
It all sounds super-organised. Really, the frosting-bag-filling system doesn't really sound that bad.
And a dunk in the bath solves everything, doesn't it? (and cups of tea)
I'm with Tami. I'm packing right now. If you knew about my day you'd probably believe me.
The cookies and your kids (as always) are adorable.
What fun! I so need to pick up some frosting decorators, we are a knife, spread, and sprinkle kind of family - but that just looks like so much fun!
WHAT?! no sprinkles? :) They look yummy!
oh what a happy sight...i DON'T KNOw if I love the ginger bread cookies more or the granite....,they both look fabulous....how exciting...I need to get my act togheter, but at least yesterday we went to see the bee movie, which i really didn't care for and when to the museum for a gingerbread fest....
